KyBrewReview's Beer 101: Why Does Beer Stink?
Serious Mealtimes / Vicky Wasik
For as far back as recorded history goes—or at least since Rush sang “Working Man”—we as a species have extolled the virtues of that first cold delicious sip of beer. But drink enough beer and eventually you’ll end up with the worst-case scenario: You pick a beer from a myriad of options crack it open take that first sip and . . . it’s awful.
With hundreds of new unknown craft beers hitting the shelves these days many people think they’ve picked the wrong brand when they taste something they don’t like. Rather than complain (and subject themselves to a barrage of “actuallys” from bearded internet gentlemen) they go back to what they know. Their adventurous spirit will be crushed and they’ll stop trying new beers altogether. Tragic.
