Firefox-esr (extended support version, fully HTML5 compatible)
NetSurf GTK (fast, simple on RAM, good HTML4 and CSS support)
Dillo (ultra-lightweight GUI browser)
Links2 (text and lightweight GUI browser)
For office applications, DSL offers:

AbiWord word processor
Number Spreadsheets
Sylpheed email client
Zathura PDF Viewer
For multimedia applications:

Minivan (video and audio)
XMMS (a lightweight audio player)
Other apps:

mtPaint (graphics edition)
gFTP (FTP, SFTP and SCP)
Leafpad (quick edit)
zzzFM (file manager straight out of AntiX)
There are three GUI-based games selected because they are fun and relatively light.
