How to Fix Cyclic Redundancy Check Data Error?

You need to repair the hard drive by running the CHKDSK utility through command prompt to resolve the CRC error. CHKDSK checks the integrity of your hard drive and fixes logical file system errors, bad sectors, and file system metadata. You can run CHKDSK by following these steps:

Method 1:
Step 1: Connect the storage device to your PC.
Step 2: Tap “WindowsQ” and type CMD in the search bar.
Step 3: Right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator”.
Step 4: A Command Prompt window appears. Type chkdsk Alternatively, you can type chkdsk X: /F /X /R for rigorous analysis and repair.
Step 5: Press the “Enter” button and wait for the “chkdsk” utility to repair disk errors.

Method 2: Run an SFC scan
Step 1: Connect the storage drive
Step 2: Click on the Windows icon to open the search bar
Step 3: Type cmd. Right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator” from the options.
Step 4: Type SFC /scannow in cmd window and press “Enter” button to run SFC scan.
