Kernel Power Event ID 41 may occur if your computer shuts down unexpectedly due to a power source failure or restarts unexpectedly. Kernel power error is a critical error that should never be ignored as it could make Windows unstable.
Selecting Start and then turning off or shutting down the computer is the preferred method for shutting down Windows. When you use this standard technique, the operating system closes all files and alerts any running services or programs, allowing them to save any unsaved data to disk and clear any active caches. When your computer suddenly shuts down, Windows logs event ID 41 the next time it starts. Here is an example event message:
Event ID: 41
Description: The system restarted without first shutting down properly.
This event indicates that Windows was unable to shut down properly due to unexpected activity. An interruption in power supply or a shutdown error can trigger a shutdown like this. Windows collects all categories of error codes when it closes, if possible. Windows checks for these codes during the kernel phase of the next Windows startup and includes any existing codes in the event ID 41 event data.

Event ID 41 may not contain enough information to correctly indicate what happened by itself. In most cases, you also need to look at what was happening at the time of the unexpected shutdown. Identify a troubleshooting approach for your situation using the information in this video.
