Vodka provides a neutral note to the drink allowing the intriguing flavors of amaro vermouth and mint tea syrup to really come into their own.

RUM PUNCH | Caribbean recipes
Serious Mealtimes / Kelly Puleio
Don’t be afraid of the amaro in this popular punch recipe from Daniel Osborne of Bullard and Abigail Hall in Portland Oregon. Montenegro is a slightly bitter Italian liqueur that accents the drink with orange peel saffron and vanilla. Note: You’ll want full-bodied blanc vermouth not dry vermouth for balance. If you prefer your cocktails more tart increase the lime juice as directed in the recipe; a cup of lime juice makes a rich floral minty dream while a little more gives it a brighter edge. This is a drink worth multiplying to fill a large serving platter.
